Ukraine Regains Control of 330 sq km in Donetsk Amid Counterattack

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian forces have regained control of 330 square kilometers of territory in Donetsk Oblast following successful counterattacks in the Dobropillia and Pokrovsk areas.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to Deutsche Welle, citing Ukrinform.
More than 170 square kilometers of the territory returned to Ukrainian control have been completely cleared of Russian troops.
According to the Ukrainian President, Russian forces tried to surround Ukrainian troops, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully stopped their attempts.
“It is not easy to talk about success when we are defending ourselves, but I believe that this is a success for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the Head of State said.
He also noted that Russia is likely to focus its main forces in this direction.
“We understand that this is where they will now transfer personnel in order to maintain their positions. They have been constantly adding to their forces there because this was their main offensive – the Dobropillia and Pokrovsk directions,” Zelenskyy stated, adding that the 61st Marine Brigade, in particular, may be brought in.
He also pointed out that during the counteroffensive, Russian military maps were captured, showing significant discrepancies between the actual location of Ukrainian forces and what was shown on Russian maps. It shows that Russian reports “differ greatly from reality,” indicating a lack of accurate data in the Russian command and possible internal communication problems in their army.
The President emphasized that this refutes Russia's propaganda claims about the rapid capture of Pokrovsk and the entire east of Ukraine by November, noting that the situation on the front lines is significantly different from Russian statements.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that he plans to hold a series of bilateral meetings during the UN General Assembly in New York, including with US President Donald Trump.
